Camp Description

KILLINGWORTH –Children attending Deer Lake Day Camp
(K – 8) experience camp the way it should be – safe, fun, and educational. Our fantastic role models make summer camp unforgettable while guiding the campers through their days at beautiful Deer Lake. Skill areas include daily swim lessons & recreational swim, rowing, canoeing, sports & games, crafts, archery, nature, wilderness challenge, and skits & songs.

Deer Lake Wilderness School is a unique outdoor education program designed for individuals entering grades 9 – 11. Students learn a broad selection of outdoor skills, empowering them to act responsibly in a back-country environment. Deer Lake is located on 255 acres and is adjacent to over 600 acres of State Forest. Both offer a variety of terrain consisting of streams, woodlands, fields, open rock faces, and three private lakes. Skills include rock climbing & rappelling, low & high ropes course, canoeing & kayaking, orienteering, backpacking, and Leave No Trace philosophy.
