Camp Description

DARIEN – The DYC summer camp program is a total day camp experience. Campers will engage in small group & large group activities; field trips; arts & crafts & athletics; workshops, entertainment and cultural activities. The philosophy of the summer camp is to offer campers a variety of recreational, athletic and cultural activities in a safe, positive and enriching environment. The activity philosophy of the camp is that the first and most important objective is to have fun, and to make sure each camper is given as much time as possible to take an active part in athletic and other activities. Campers are encouraged to develop sportsmanship and fair play. The sports program is non-instructional, non-competitive in nature. (The DYC Summer camp program is inherently non-competitive in nature.) Camp is for the campers. Staff is expected to ensure fun and safety throughout the camp experience, one not at the expense of another.
